The Regis Jesuit Raiders will take on the Ponderosa Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Regis Jesuit came up short against Rock Canyon on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Raiders have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.
Meanwhile, Ponderosa came up short against Heritage on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-20 in the first set.
Ponderosa started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-13.
Regis Jesuit will have to keep a close watch on Kylie Paul and Brooklynn McClain, a pair of players who had a big impact on Ponderosa's prior game. Paul had eight digs and three aces, while McClain had 20 digs and two assists. McClain has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played. Merry Sung also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Regis Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Everything went Regis Jesuit's way against Ponderosa in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Regis Jesuit made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
