Baseball Recap: Ellicott Takes a Loss

Ellicott had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-5 to make it six. They lost 15-4 to the Woodland Park Panthers. If the Thunderhawks were looking for revenge after losing 12-4 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Woodland Park, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average this season.

For Woodland Park's part, Link Bryden and Cody Becker made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Bryden tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Becker struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Bryden has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Bryden went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Becker went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Woodland Park beat Ellicott by a score of 25-3 later that day.
