Volleyball Game Preview: Shenandoah Zeps vs. Martins Ferry Purple Riders

The Shenandoah Zeps will take on the Martins Ferry Purple Riders at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shenandoah took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Columbiana.

Meanwhile, Martins Ferry made easy work of Wheeling Central Catholic on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Purple Riders in their matchups with the Maroon Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 25-13.

Shenandoah better keep an eye on Gracie Lucas. She was instrumental in Martins Ferry's win, getting seven digs and two aces. That's the most digs Lucas has posted over her last seven contests. London Hodor also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Shenandoah's record is now 18-3. As for Martins Ferry, their record now sits at 16-5.
