Baseball Recap: Owen Warhorses vs. Mitchell Mountaineers
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Owen and Mitchell have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Warhorses fell 11-6 to the Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-6 last Tuesday.
Gavin Puckett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Eathan Hall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Owen dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mitchell, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owen will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
