Softball Recap: Reading Gets the Win

While Reading's victory against Pittsford wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rangers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Wildcats on Friday.

Jordyn Mapes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah McDonald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Reading was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Reading now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pittsford, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Reading will venture away from home to challenge Tekonsha at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pittsford, they will welcome Britton Deerfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
