Volleyball Recap: Legacy Wins Going Away Against Sebastian River

Legacy not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Sebastian River Sharks as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The victory didn't come easy: Sebastian River scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-20.

Lyla Barker-Bray paced Legacy's offense, picking up 14 kills. Barker-Bray got some help from Meredith Prince and her 37 assists. Paisley Woods controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Sebastian River lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Danielle Primavera, who had 13 assists and eight digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Elizabeth Bryant was another key player, getting nine digs and six assists.

Legacy's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-4. As for Sebastian River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legacy will welcome Okeechobee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sebastian River, they will host Synergy Magnet K12 at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
