Denver City won the last time they faced Stanton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Buffaloes with a sharp 16-9 win. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ashley Martinez was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Annie Gonzalez, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Denver City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .592. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanton only posted an OBP of .450.

The victory made it two in a row for Denver City and bumps their season record up to 18-6. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Compass Academy and 9-14-1 Stanton. As for Stanton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14-1 record this season.

Denver City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-4 win against Crane on the 11th. As for Stanton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 29-6 victory against Compass Academy on the 12th.
