Softball Game Preview: Henry-Senachwine Mallards vs. St. Bede Bruins

For the second straight game, Henry-Senachwine will face off against St. Bede. The Mallards are taking a road trip to take on the Bruins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Henry-Senachwine will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Henry-Senachwine needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Bede. They skirted past the Bruins 3-2. That's two games straight that the Mallards have won by just one run.

For St. Bede's part, Macy Strauch spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. Strauch has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lily Bosnich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Henry-Senachwine's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Bede, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.
