Basketball Recap: Morgan Township Comes Up Short

Morgan Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 57-27 loss at the hands of the Christian Academy Warriors. The match marked the Cherokees' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cal Lemmons was Morgan Township's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Aidan Johnson took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Joshua Renfro was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 en route to 25 points for Christian Academy. Another player making a difference was Cooper Losey, who posted seven points and six assists.

Morgan Township's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan Township will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against North Judson-San Pierre at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
