Baseball Recap: Lockwood Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mcauley Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lockwood). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the McAuley Catholic Warriors a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Nik Thieman and Roper Gray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Thieman tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gray didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Thieman went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Gray earned one run and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave Gray a new career-high.

In other batting news, Landry Ogden was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Lockwood is undefeated when Ogden posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-10 otherwise. Braxton Garver also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Lockwood's record is now 8-10. As for McAuley Catholic, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

As of now, neither Lockwood nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
