After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charleroi, Keystone Oaks was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Steel Valley Ironmen with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Kennadi Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kylie Stahl and Kailyn Brannon did most of the damage at the plate: Stahl went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Brannon went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Brannon has posted since back in March.
