Basketball Game Preview: North Edgecombe Warriors vs. KIPP P Pride

The North Edgecombe Warriors will take on the KIPP P Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Edgecombe has four straight victories, KIPP P has 25 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

North Edgecombe will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Northampton County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. North Edgecombe breezed by Northampton County to the tune of 62-35 on Thursday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, KIPP P played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 32-0 loss at the hands of Rocky Mount Prep.

North Edgecombe has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.6 points. As for KIPP P, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

North Edgecombe came out on top in a nail-biter against KIPP P in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Will North Edgecombe repeat their success, or does KIPP P have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
