Softball Recap: Doral Academy Red Rock Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Doral Academy Red Rock entered their tilt with Sierra Vista on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Mountain Lions 12-2. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 15-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Megan Upp spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabriella Rodriguez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Desarae Castaneda was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Doral Academy Red Rock's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
