Basketball Game Preview: Evangel Christian Eagles vs. South Oldham Dragons

The Evangel Christian Eagles will challenge the South Oldham Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Monday, Evangel Christian lost to Adair County on the road by a 69-51 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Indians are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, South Oldham unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 66-53 to North Oldham.

Evangel Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for South Oldham, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-4.

Everything went Evangel Christian's way against South Oldham when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Evangel Christian made off with a 90-69 win.
