Baseball Game Preview: Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans vs. White House Blue Devils

The Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans will face off against the White House Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Morristown-Hamblen West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Morristown-Hamblen West was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against White House-Heritage, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since March 14th.

Paxton Seal made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cody Blair was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Shepard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Morristown-Hamblen West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White House-Heritage only posted an OBP of .259.

Meanwhile, White House fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Goodpasture Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-7 to the Cougars.

White House's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
