Volleyball Recap: Ayer Shirley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Ayer Shirley had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the North Polar Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in April.

Ayer Shirley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-23.

Colm Fallon paced Ayer Shirley's offense, picking up 13 kills. Fallon got some help from Griffon Cotter and his 17 assists. Finally, Fallon was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-9. As for North, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Ayer Shirley will face off against Innovation Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. North has already played their next match (against Abby Kelley Foster), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
