Baseball Recap: Dawson-Boyd Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Dawson-Boyd put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Adrian/Ellsworth Dragons a 10-0 shutout. The Blackjacks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Colten Bothun made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Bothun was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kameron Sather, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Olson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Dawson-Boyd's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Adrian/Ellsworth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Dawson-Boyd will host Ortonville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Adrian/Ellsworth, they are taking a road trip to take on Lac qui Parle Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
