Baseball Game Preview: Cooper Cougars vs. Wylie Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Cooper will face off against Wylie. The Cougars will host the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cooper is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Wylie just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 6-3 to the Bulldogs.

For Wylie's part, Colby Garrett made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Garrett has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Garrett wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ty Briscoe, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The victory (which was Wylie's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cooper, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
