Softball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Frontier

Frontier is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Bridgeport on Tuesday, but Bridgeport came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Cougars came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bulldogs. The two-run effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Kaycee Berentz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Frontier's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Livingston, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Frontier's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Bridgeport, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Coming up, Frontier will be playing in front of their home fans against Shadyside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to face off against River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
