Baseball Recap: Round Rock Westwood Find Success

Round Rock Westwood lost to Hutto last Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. Round Rock Westwood narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hutto 5-4.

Jake Jones was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Round Rock Westwood is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-12-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. With the loss, Hutto broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Coincidentally, Round Rock Westwood and Hutto will both be playing Round Rock the next time they take the field. Hutto will head out to face Round Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Round Rock Westwood will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
