Soccer Game Preview: Minerva vs. New Philadelphia

The Minerva Lions will square off against the New Philadelphia Quakers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Minerva has four straight wins, New Philadelphia has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Minerva is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Aquinas get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Saturday. Minerva might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Aquinas from everywhere, as nine different players booted in a goal. Kyleigh Lippincott led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, New Philadelphia was not quite Fairless' equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0.

Minerva's win bumped their record up to 8-6-2. As for New Philadelphia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1.
