The Palmerton Blue Bombers will venture away from home to square off against the Wilson Area Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wilson Area took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Palmerton, who comes in off a win.
Palmerton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Notre Dame-Green Pond, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Bombers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Crusaders on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cameron Pengelly and Brady Reph made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Pengelly pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Meanwhile, Reph tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Palmerton is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4 otherwise. At the plate, Pengelly scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Reph went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those three hits gave Reph a new career-high.
In other batting news, Luke Matkso and Corey Serfass did most of the damage at the plate: Matkso went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Serfass scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Palmerton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Wilson Area's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northwestern Lehigh.
Wilson Area saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Coyle, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.
Wilson Area now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Palmerton, their record now sits at an identical 4-5.
Wilson Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Palmerton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Wilson Area, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain Palmerton's hitters?
Palmerton suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Wilson Area when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Bombers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
