Recap: Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders vs. Montgomery Aztecs
After flying high against the San Ysidro Cougars last Wednesday, the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders came back down to earth. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mater Dei Catholic in their matchups with Montgomery: they've now lost four in a row.
Mater Dei Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Grogan, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josiah Jefferson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mater Dei Catholic's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-10. As for Montgomery, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.
Mater Dei Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Temecula Valley at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th.
