Baseball Recap: Fruitdale Triumphs

While Fruitdale's win against Southern Choctaw wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Indians 11-10 on Tuesday. Considering the Pirates' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Fruitdale got a massive performance out of Aiden Cochran, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The Pirates are undefeated when Cochran posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elijah Reed, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Fruitdale's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Southern Choctaw, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Fruitdale will challenge McIntosh at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Choctaw has already played their next matchup (against Choctaw County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
