Recap: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles
The Timpview Thunderbirds posted their biggest win since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Maple Mountain 50-27. The win made it back-to-back wins for Timpview.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lina Ballin, who scored 17 points along with six assists and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ballin has scored at least a third of Timpview's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Livia Eyre, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaynee Tanner, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Kylee Gause, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Timpview is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Maple Mountain, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timpview will challenge Spanish Fork at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Spanish Fork is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Maple Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Wasatch at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
