Baseball Game Preview: Episcopal Knights vs. Pioneer Diamondbacks

The Episcopal Knights will take on the Pioneer Diamondbacks in a tournament on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Episcopal has four straight wins, Pioneer has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Episcopal is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Clark 12-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pioneer fell victim to New Braunfels and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Unicorns by a score of 1-0.

Episcopal's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
