Volleyball Game Preview: Youngker Roughriders vs. Independence Patriots

Youngker is 0-4 against Independence since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Roughriders will be playing at home against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m.

Youngker lost 3-0 to Washington on Thursday.

While Youngker ultimately came up short, they really made Washington work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 26-24, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Independence posted their closest victory since March 25th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Buckeye 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Independence was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Independence's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-13. As for Youngker, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Youngker suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Independence when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Roughriders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
