Baseball Recap: Antonian Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Antonian Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Savio Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Apaches also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Blake Beckmann made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Antonian Prep: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7-1 otherwise.

Antonian Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Savio, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Antonian Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against Savio: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
