Softball Recap: Cypress Lake Comes Up Short

Cypress Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-3 to the Naples Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cypress Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelley Kenner, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Cypress Lake's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Naples, the victory snapped their losing streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 4-13 record.

Cypress Lake will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Naples, they will square off against Evangelical Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sentinels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
