After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spring, Nimitz was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dekaney Wildcats 21-20. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ashely Guzman was a standout: she went 5-for-6 with five RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aiyanna Richard, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Nimitz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matches.

Nimitz's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Dekaney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Nimitz nor Dekaney have any future games scheduled.
