Basketball Recap: Sperry Comes Up Short

Sperry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Perkins-Tryon Demons 71-31. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Demons are ranked 123rd).

Sperry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Perkins-Tryon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Sperry has already played their next contest (against Wesleyan Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Perkins-Tryon has already played their next game, a 61-49 win against Tuttle on the 18th.
