Basketball Recap: Green Level Gators vs. Hoggard Vikings
Green Level and Hoggard squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Green Level had to settle for second. They fell 51-43 to the Hoggard Vikings. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.
Green Level's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Barber, who posted 16 points and six boards. Ryan Baker was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Tristan Shivers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hoggard, going 6-for-10 to rack up 19 points and seven assists. Shivers' big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Fitzgerald, who scored 11 points.
Green Level's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Hoggard, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 28-1.
Green Level does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoggard, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 41-32 win against Leesville Road on the 4th.
