Recap: J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado vs. Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers
On Friday, J.P. McCaskey didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lampeter-Strasburg, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win.
When it comes to explaining why Lampeter-Strasburg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chase Smucker. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Smucker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Justin Glick was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
J.P. McCaskey has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.P. McCaskey will finish 2023 at home by hosting Harrisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lampeter-Strasburg and Lancaster Catholic will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lancaster Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 514th, while Lampeter-Strasburg is ranked 226th).
