Basketball Preview: Henry Ford Academy Navigators vs. Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers
Henry Ford Academy and the Battling Bathers are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Henry Ford Academy Navigators will head out on the road to square off against the Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Henry Ford Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Two weeks ago, Henry Ford Academy ended up a good deal behind the and lost 50-31.
Meanwhile, Mt. Clemens unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 38-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Michigan Collegiate.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Leah Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Le'ila Sears, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.
Henry Ford Academy dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mt. Clemens, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Henry Ford Academy was dealt a bruising 46-8 defeat at the hands of the Battling Bathers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Henry Ford Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
