Basketball Recap: St. Edward Beats Yorkville Christian for Their Third Straight Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Edward walked away with it. They blew past the Yorkville Christian Mustangs 46-20 on Tuesday. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.

Yorkville Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Payton Wallin and Hannah Aguado. Wallin posted five points, while Aguado earned two points. Aguado has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

The win (which was St. Edward's third in a row) raised their record to 24-10. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.7 points over those games. As for Yorkville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Coming up, St. Edward will take on Amboy/Ohio at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yorkville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
