Baseball Game Preview: Dakota Valley Panthers vs. Parker Pheasants

Dakota Valley is 6-1 against Parker since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Sunday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Pheasants at 5:30 p.m. Dakota Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Dakota Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Beresford get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Watchdogs: they've now won six in a row.

Grady Ramos was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Drew Lukken was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Jake Pick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Parker didn't have quite enough to beat Scotland/Menno on April 6th and fell 4-3.

Parker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Kuchta, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dakota Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Parker, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Dakota Valley couldn't quite finish off Parker when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
