Central Noble hadn't done well against Churubusco recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 2-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-1 victory back in September.

Jaylee Slone paced Central Noble's offense, picking up nine kills. Slone got some help from Kaydintz Bales and her 12 assists. Lily Marks controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Churubusco's loss came despite strong showings from Alyssa Marks and Cora Boersema. Alyssa had 16 assists, while Boersema had four digs and two aces.

Central Noble's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Churubusco, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-20.

Central Noble wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against West Noble on the 11th. As for Churubusco, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Prairie Heights on the 11th.
