Basketball Recap: Wheatley Wildcats vs. Friends Academy Quakers

Wheatley lost against Friends Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wheatley Wildcats were beaten by the Friends Academy Quakers 67-40. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 807th, while the Quakers are ranked 349th).

Friends Academy found their leader in sophomore Eyan Valadez, who posted 19 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Another player making a difference was Kai Jordan, who had 16 points.

Wheatley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Friends Academy, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
