Recap: Weeping Water Indians vs. Lourdes Central Catholic Knights
The Weeping Water Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Lourdes Central Catholic by a score of 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Weeping Water has suffered yet this season.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gus Mcgill, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Riggs Wilson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Lourdes Central Catholic can attribute much of their success to Trevor Tesarek, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tesarek has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Schnitzer, who scored 11 points.
Weeping Water's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weeping Water won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Johnson County Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against Lewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
