Basketball Recap: Waskom Comes Up Short

Waskom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 46-38 to the Gary Bobcats. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 60-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Waskom's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Gary, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Waskom will face off against Elysian Fields at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Elysian Fields has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Gary, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Gary Bobcats challenge the Beckville Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beckville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Gary likes a good challenge.
