Football Recap: Scituate Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Scituate won the last time they faced Norwell and things went their way on Friday too. The Sailors managed a 34-28 victory over the Clippers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Sailors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Clippers are ranked 57th).

Scituate's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Norwell, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Scituate will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Plymouth South at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Sailors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Norwell, they will challenge Apponequet Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
