Baseball Game Preview: Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles vs. Waynesburg Central Raiders

For the second straight game, Keystone Oaks will face off against Waynesburg Central. The Golden Eagles will head out to face off against the Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Keystone Oaks fell victim to Waynesburg Central and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Waynesburg Central's part, Tyler Groves made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Groves has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Jake Stephenson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win was the third in a row for Waynesburg Central, bringing their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Keystone Oaks, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.
