Soccer Recap: Amelia County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cumberland on Tuesday, Amelia County came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Randolph-Henry Statesmen by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Ezequeil Garcia Castro probably wasn't too happy after the contest: he scored every single goal for Amelia County and still walked away on the losing team.

Amelia County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five games. As for Randolph-Henry, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amelia County will venture away from home to face off against Lunenburg Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Randolph-Henry, they will head out to take on Galileo at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
