Baseball Game Preview: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Farmville Central Jaguars

The Wakefield Wolverines will head out to challenge the Farmville Central Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Wakefield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Knightdale with a sharp 24-0 win on Monday. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Farmville Central earned a 6-1 victory over Roanoke Rapids on Monday.

Chase Felton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ashton Skinner, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Farmville Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Wakefield pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Farmville Central, their record now sits at 10-7.
