Softball Game Preview: Chittenango Bears vs. Whitesboro Warriors

The Chittenango Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Whitesboro Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Chittenango sitting on 13 straight wins and Whitesboro on five.

Chittenango's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Jordan-Elbridge with a sharp 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Julia Spencer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chittenango got a massive performance out of Izzy McClusky, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Hannah Cretaro was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Chittenango kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in ten consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Whitesboro made easy work of Camden on Monday and carried off a 12-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Chittenango pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Whitesboro, their record is now 9-1.
