Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Hannan Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Archbishop Hannan faced Mt. Carmel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Hawks fell 3-1 to the Cubs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cubs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

Archbishop Hannan started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 29-27, 25-22, 25-21.

Archbishop Hannan's loss ended a nine-match streak of away wins and brought them to 29-9. As for Mt. Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Hannan will welcome Academy of the Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will host Archbishop Chapelle at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
