Baseball Recap: Centennial Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Centennial hadn't done well against Borah recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Patriots walked away with a 9-4 win over the Lions. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tate Keddington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 12 matches.

Keddington wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Braden, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Korbyn Nielsen was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Centennial's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Borah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
