Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wheeler couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 8-1 to the Holy Cross Crusaders on Tuesday. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

James Main put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Main was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Holy Cross, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

While Wheeler had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
