Timberlake has gone a perfect 3-0 against Riverside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Timberlake knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Riverside likes a good challenge.
It was a proper cat-fight when Timberlake challenged Kellogg on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 28-0 margin over the Wildcats. That looming 28-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Ryker Brennan and Ethan Pecor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Brennan struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Pecor pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brennan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Brennan went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Pecor scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Brennan a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Moore, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Zach Blansfield was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Timberlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Priest River last Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
Bryce Lee and Austin Jenkinson were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Lee struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Meanwhile, Jenkinson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Lee has become a key player for Riverside: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-3 otherwise. At bat, Lee scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Jenkinson went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Jenkinson brought in this season.
In other batting news, Colton Meyer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Gus Stehlar also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Timberlake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, their record is now 2-4.
Riverside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Timberlake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .525. It's a different story for Riverside, though, as they've only averaged .331. Will they be able to contain Timberlake's hitters?
Timberlake took their win against Riverside in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
