Sierra Grande has gone a perfect 8-0 against Primero recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Sierra Grande is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Mountain Valley 85-6. The Panthers have beaten the Wolves the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolves has come to flipping the script.

Sierra Grande didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jadyn Martinez and Sammy Gonzalez. Martinez's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Primero took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 65-38 win over Kiowa. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 22 points or more this season.
Sierra Grande better keep an eye on Ralsten LePlatt. He was instrumental in Primero's win, rushing for 162 yards and three scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 76 receiving yards and three touchdowns. LePlatt showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Gabe Sintas, who threw for 120 yards and four TDs on only nine passes.
Primero was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 348 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Sierra Grande's record now sits at 4-1. As for Primero, their record is now an identical 4-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sierra Grande has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Primero struggles in that department as they've been averaging 230 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Sierra Grande beat Primero 54-44 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
